Photographer of the Year Scholarship
Application Deadline - March 29,

The Professional Photographers of Washington
is pleased to announce that applications are
available for the 2007 Student Photographer
of the Year Award, which is open to all
high school seniors in Washington State, graduating
in the year 2008. The winning student
will receive a $1000 scholarship grant, which
will
be used
to
further the applicant’s study in the photographic
arts.
A panel of photographers who are
members of the Professional Photographers of
Washington will select the finalists. The Student
Photographer of the Year will be chosen based
upon photographic and scholastic achievements
and the student’s wish to continue their
studies in the photographic arts.

The Professional Photographers of Washington
was founded in 1952, “To create, foster
and promote the exchange of thoughts and ideas
freely, among photographers, so as to advance
the art and profession of photography” and
is an affiliate organization of the Professional
Photographers of America.

2007 Scholarship Winner
DAVID KASNIC

David
Kasnic of Wenatchee High School (Wenatchee) was the recipient of
the 2007 Student Photographer of the Year Scholarship Award.
On May 21st David received
his award and scholarship at the Awards Night at Wenatchee High School.
Heidi Swoboda, Central District Representative
for the Professional Photographers of Washington presented David with the
scholarship.

Finalists in the 2007 Competition:
Lindsey Otta- Forest Ridge School of the Sacred Heart (Bellevue),
and
Jaynie Lauren Hancock-LaConner High School (LaConner).

2006 Scholarship Winner

Janine Morris of Shorecrest High School (Lake Forest
Park) was the recipient of the 2006 Student Photographer of the Year
Scholarship Award. Janine plans to continue her studies at Fairhaven
College at Western Washington University.

2005 Scholarship Winner
|

Daniel
Hilden of Mount Vernon High School was the recipient of the
2005 Student Photographer of the Year Scholarship Award. Daniel continues
his studies at Evergreen State College.

2004 Scholarship Winner

Allison Lewis of South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard
WA was the 2004 winner of the PPW Scholarship. She attends Montana State
University specializing in applied photography, art photography and emerging
photographic technologies. |
2003 Scholarship Winner
 |
Austin Alcorn Peterson of Stadium High School in Tacoma
was awarded the 2003 Student Photographer of the Year Scholarship. Austin
is using his scholarship at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester,
New York.
