President's Message - Michael Thresher (2010-2011)

I love the PPW and I’d like to just take a minute to tell you why:

The PPW is a volunteer association of people who are dedicated to the profession they love, and desire to grow and be successful in the photographic industry. The key to getting the most from PPW membership is through involvement and activity. As we participate we develop relationships and friendships with like-minded people from across the state that we would never have met except through the PPW.

There are so many ways to participate! Just check out the Resources page to see all the ways we work together, plus the Opportunities page shows you what you can do right now. I guarantee that when involvement and activity with our association becomes a part of your life, as it has mine, you will discover the true power of PPW membership and develop friendships that will last a lifetime.

Of course, attending district events is the backbone of membership and our 10 District Reps are making it happen all over the state. Just click on your district to contact your Rep.

The next statewide event is the Fall seminar happening in October. Someone once said, "The quality of education is the single most important investment a professional photographer makes." With the challenges our profession is facing these days, this will be a seminar you can't afford to miss.

As our wonderful PPW nears it's 60th anniversary, I look forward to serving as your president and getting to know you even better over the next year.

Michael Thresher
President of the Professional Photographers of Washington
