Photographer of the Year

Alexis Sharpe

The Professional Photographers of Washington are happy to announce the winner of the Student Photographer of the Year Scholarship. The $2000 scholarship was awarded to: Alexis Sharpe of Burbaank, WA. Alexis is a senior graduating in 2015 and was selected from applications submitted by student photographers representing schools throughout Washington State. Alexis Sharpe will receive a $2000 Scholarship grant, which will be used to further her study in the photographic arts. Alexis plans on attending Seattle Central and wants to work in the field of Fashion Photography. The scholarship was presented to Alexis at The Professional Photographers of Washington Conference in Vancouver, WA March 30, 2015.

Claudia Gunhus

Claudia Gunhus of Lake Washington High School (Kirkland) as the recipient of the 2014 Student Photographer of the Year Scholarship Award. Claudia graduated in the year 2014. Claudia plans to continue her studies at Whitworth College. She aspires to own her own portrait studio.

Karissa Blunck

Karissa Blunck of Tumwater High School (Olympia, WA) was the recipient of the 2013 Student Photographer of the Year Scholarship Award. Karissa graduated in the year 2013. Karissa received a $2000 Scholarship grant, to continue her studies at Evergreen Community College. She aspires to be a high school art/photography instructor as well as a freelance photographer. We surprised Karissa by awarding her the scholarship at the PPW Conference Banquet. Karissa, a member of PPW also received her Associate Fellow of Photography degree also this year.

Kimmiree Bolla of Kittitas High School (Kittitas, WA) was the recipient of the 2012. Kimmiree graduated in the year 2012. Kimmiree plans to continue her studies at Western Washington University.

Will Fisher of Spring Street International School (Friday Harbor) is the $2000 scholarship winner. Will graduated in 2011 and received a $2000 Scholarship grant, which was used to further his study in the photographic arts.
