I love photography. Everything about it, the machinery in the 'old days' the chips and workings of the cameras in the new era.
Over the years my career had taken many twist and turns many of which were not planned by me, however faith in my God and myself has allowed me to embrace each twist and turn.
Starting out as primarily a wedding and senior photographer, then evolving into a newborn, children's and family photographer and then the road to doing all of the Youth Sports at Joint Base Lewis McChord.
I never thought I would want to be a sports photographer, but what it has showed me is that I get the opportunity to see some of these kids 5 or 6 times a year, watch them grown and change and be a positive influence in their lives. Many of the families I touch go through long periods of one parent being deployed, having another adult take a moment to talk to them or even just call them by name can make a bit of difference in their young lives.
I love to travel and see new things, to be able to take away the essence of a place in a photograph is magic to me. It's a lot like photographing a person, you can take a second and capture a likeness of their physical selves or you can take a few moments and capture the essence of who they are. The choice is our as photographers.
I've learned that my life is about doors and windows. When one door closes I can kick and scream trying to get it open again or I can look for the window and then next opportunity .
