Join us for a monthly State Wide Zoom (virtual) gathering, ‘Coffee, Cameras and Conversation’ where we can connect and get to know our other PPW members and share on the journey to better. Normally, we meet every fourth Tuesday morning at 9am.

Saturday, June 6^th, 2026

A full day on location with Woody Walters

Join Master Photographer Woody Walters on location and explore the Palouse through the eyes of Black and White landscape photography. There is a heavy focus on composition, tonality, and design choices.

“I invite you to spend a day with me, shoot with me, and let us expand our vision” Woody says. “Instead of re-acting, let us focus on creating. Let us look, feel, and then see. Then by knowing our craft let us take what we see and share it with our viewer.”

Woody will be shooting film (4x5) and explaining the process. We’ll start with a meetup in Spokane to go over details for the day and some tips on what to look for. We'll form a caravan as we travel. We’ll visit 3 locations throughout the day, ending at sunset at Steptoe Butte. We’ll have an extended lunch break in Colfax (waiting for the mid-day sun to pass) and a quick “dinner/snack” break before the sunset photos. It’s recommended to register with a travel buddy.

PPW and PPA members can regisiter for a discounted price of $125. Non-members for $159. Meals and lodging not included.

This is a rare in-person opportunity to learn from an award winning photographer whose passion is teaching others how to level up their photography.

About Woody:

Woody Walters, has been a photographer since 1977. He has a Master degree in Photography, his Master's Artist degree, and his Master Craftsmen degree. His black and white images have been collected by museums and galleries all over the world including the Hoyt Institute of Art, Yugo International Museum, Tampa Museum of Art and the Orlando Museum of Art . His print “Edna” is even in Ansel Adam’s private collection. His fine art tabletop book “Visions of Florida'' was voted best photographic book released that year.

Join us for a one-of-a-kind photographic experience hosted by Professional Photographers of Washington in a setting that blends natural beauty, creativity, and connection.

Day one begins on the water, where we’ll photograph eagles, osprey, and other wildlife from pontoon boats on a serene mountain lake, surrounded by towering pines and timeless, old-fashioned fishing camp charm. The landscape alone is worth the trip - layered mountains, reflective water, and endless inspiration at every turn.

As evening settles in, we’ll gather back at the studio for a shared meal and relaxed fellowship around the campfire. Attendees are welcome to camp under the stars, stay in the studio, or take advantage of nearby lodging just minutes away.

Day two greets us with early morning light and the spirit of the West, featuring horses and western characters set against our beautiful landscape: authentic, story-driven imagery designed to spark creativity and elevate your portfolio.

This experience is about more than creating beautiful images - it’s about slowing down, connecting with fellow professionals, and enjoying a gentle adventure in a truly special place. All meals are included, so you can focus on what matters most: seeing, creating, and being inspired.

I am a portrait and fine art photographer from Leavenworth, Washington. Over the past 20+ years, I have had the honor of photographing my community members and tourists who have welcomed my artwork into their homes. It’s an honor that not only documents but also helps cultivate a sense of tradition, connection, and shared story. I love exploring whatever inspires me in the moment and helping people see the beauty, character, and wonder within themselves and in the world around them. I’m a past president of Professional Photographers of Washington and recently became a PPA Counselor.

Here are the Minutes from the Spring Board meeting for our annual summer board retreat and meeting on Jun 27 - 28. Reports and motions are due on June 14th.

Location will be determined after elections. Please arrive between 11am -12 noon. We will start the Agenda of Discussion at 12. We will conclude at 5pm. This is an informal meeting time. If you have any new ideas or something that hasn't been addressed, this is the time to attend.

Sunday at 9am, we will start the official meeting. If that is all you can attend, please be on time. If you can't make the meeting and you are a voting member, please let us know if you have a proxy attending.
