Join PPW for a full day with Russell Robinson, CPP and Bryan Welsh, M. Photog., Cr., CPP – share the day for learning how to blend technical skill with creative vision - then take that knowledge and creatively apply it to your images for competition – a day that takes creativity from start to finish!
In the morning: Russell Robinson will share Innovative Photography Techniques which will include real-time camera tethering to a laptop, allowing attendees to see the process unfold on a projection screen.
Whether you're an intermediate photographer looking to expand your skills or an expert seeking fresh ideas, this presentation will offer valuable tips and inspiration for your own creative projects.
He will demonstrate live:
- Creating Surreal Underwater Scenes: Learn how to use a fish tank, strobes with colored gels, and everyday items to create a captivating underwater scene.
- Floating Coffee Cups: Discover how to make coffee cups appear as if they’re floating in mid-air using fishing line and minimal post-processing techniques.
- Transforming Product Shots with Creative Backgrounds: Explore the art of top-down product photography and learn how to use Photoshop to change the surface background
In the afternoon: Bryan Welsh will go deep on Image Competition Insights - things to know before you push submit when entering a competition.
It can feel like there is information only the most experienced photographers know as they prepare their images for competition. Have you ever wanted to know the ins & outs of competition? It’s not about conforming to a particular recipe but understanding the key components you can apply to your images and enhance your chances of doing well.
